This website is dedicated to one of the best import cars ever made (imported?), the 1999 Honda Civic SiR (Si in the US). This is the
DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam) VTEC version of the B16 engine which puts out 160hp. Obviously there will be much debate whether this car is truely
the best import, but so far, in the low end market segment, I think it is. Nowadays you have the Nissan SE-R, the new Toyota Corolla XRS,
and even the Mazda 3, but they all cannot compare to the 1999-2000 Honda Civic SiR.
This
car is FUN TO DRIVE. The high revving engine produces more power than most other Civic engines but it's
the sound that the engine makes that makes it the best. At high revs the car really sounds amazing. Add to that an
intake and an exhaust and you'll get heads turning for sure. It is obviously not a V6 but this thing will move because of
its lighter weight. Adding a few basic mods can significantly improve its response. The stock SiR is a
bit weak on corners but a stiff spring/suspension upgrade and some new tires fix this problem easily.
The Civic SiR, or the Civic in general, has many more options available for
performance modifications. Dropping an Integra Type-R engine into a Civic is so easy its as if Honda planned it that way. Aftermarket parts for the
Honda Civic, whether they are performance or stock, are all plentiful and relatively cheaper than for other cars.
On this site you will find helpful information on common performance modifications for the
Honda Civic (or any car for that matter), like cat back exhausts, lowering springs, suspension (struts/dampers/shocks), coilovers, cold air intake, and even pulleys. Plus, there is a ton of links to other useful websites,
and there are also a lot of wallpapers to download.
